What We Do
The Mountain Cabin Quilters Guild is based in Canmore, serving quilters of the Bow Valley. Guild members attend monthly meetings, quilting and educational events, vote at the Annual General Meeting in June and use the guild library. They also qualify for priority registration at all guild-sponsored events. Each year, we raffle a quilt to raise funds for various guild programs.
Monthly guild meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from September to June in the meeting hall in St Michael’s Church, located at 709 7 St, Canmore, AB T1W 2C3. The December meeting is held on the second Wednesday due to the holiday season.
Members attend for free and guests may attend for a fee of $5.00. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the meeting runs from from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Check our calendar for details.
Stitch and Learn
Stitch and Learn sessions are held during Quilt Till Ya Wilt events. Guests may attend for a fee of $5.00. Check our calendar for details.
Quilt Till You Wilt
Several times a year, the guild gets together for a day of quilting. The day starts early, usually at 8:00 a.m. and ends at a designated time or until the last quilter wilts. There is a $5 fee for guests to participate. Check our calendar for details.
Education Program & Guest Speakers
Each year the guild holds courses for its members. This course may be given by external instructors or from its own ranks. Non-members may attend but the fee will be slightly higher than for members and registration priority is given to members.
The guild also brings in guest speakers from a wide range of quilting related topics – threads, pattern drafting, the Singing Quilter, art quilting.
The Artistic Visions Show is held each year in the spring – usually in March and runs for 3 weeks. Our Fall Show is generally held every other year, in the autumn over one weekend.
