President’s Message

Thanks to everyone who participated in the “Bag Blitz”!  What a team of overachievers we are.  And a huge thank you to Siobhan, Deb, Albertina, Roseanne for organizing and getting fabric to make it as easy as possible.  Small acts of kindness like this make such a difference in the lives of those in crisis or in grief.

It’s time to think about next year!  At our June meeting, we will need to vote and have our Executive members confirmed for the 2022-2023 Guild year.  We need to fill both the Secretary and Membership Coordinator position.  The librarian position is also changing; Dale Robertson has volunteered to take that role.

Being on the Executive is a great way to meet people and learn new skills (so good for your brain).  Current and past Executive members will help mentor you, no special skills needed.  Even if you are new to the Guild, please consider taking a position.  Almost any position can be shared, so call a friend and work together.

In any given year, more than 25% of our members are involved in the Executive or our larger committees.  Delivery of our programs depends on having people to organize them and make them happen. Our immediate past president, Deb Boutilier, has agreed to head the nominating committee.  If you are interested in joining the Executive team, please contact her (deb_boutilier@shaw.ca) .  She’d be thrilled to talk to you and answer questions.

MCQG Projector
We’ve purchased a new high-definition projector for our hybrid meetings.  The Guild’s Dell projector, purchased about 9 or 10 years ago and gently used, is no longer needed.  It connects to a computer via HDMI cable.

If you are interested in purchasing this item, please contact Karen (pres@mountaincabinquilters.ca)  by March 31 to discuss.
